First Day In Hobart

We woke early and enjoyed a very good breakfast at The Old Woolstore.

Then after a brief walk around the quay we tried to buy a sim only card for the iPhone.  What a trial, Vodaphone were very honest and said they didn’t have good coverage all over the island and sent us to Optus, they sent us to Telstra who sold us a sim only card and installed it.  Later, the phone had not activated  so we went back, only to find the phone had not been unlocked in the UK even though we had checked that it had. Telstra sent us to Apple, no joy there so back to Telstra. Telstra sent us to the corner shop to buy the cheapest phone we could, just Au$30.00. Then back to Telstra for final activation!

The World, the largest passenger yacht, stranded in Hobart after the loss of its anchor at Port Arthur. t

The sun came out in the afternoon so we took another stroll along the waterfront.

Salamanca gardens have a memorial to Abel Tasman.

Back along the waterfront.

The evening rounded off with a glorious rainbow over the City, viewed from our apartment.
